Vale do Lobo Golf Courses

The world-famous Vale do Lobo Ocean and Royal Courses are home to some of the most iconic holes and spectacular scenery to be found anywhere in the Algarve. 

The Ocean is made up of two 9-hole courses, originally designed by the legendary Sir Henry Cotton, the genius golf architect and former player who also built the exceptional championship course at Penina. It features a series of gently undulating fairways which carefully hug the surrounding nature reserve and wind their way down to the shore of the Atlantic.

Inaugurated in 1997, the Royal Golf Course was designed by top American golf architect Rocky Roquemore, and based on original plans drawn up by Sir Henry Cotton. Recognised as one of Portugal’s most prestigious golf courses, it features the (almost) island green of the 9th and the cliff-top carryover of the 16th – one of the most photographed holes in Europe.
